農曆春節即將到來，又到了報歲蘭開花的季節，這種應景的花卉每年歲末新春開花，似乎在告訴大家又多了一歲，因此得名「報歲」。

花蓮縣光復鄉從事園藝30餘年的業餘園藝專家趙慶成，曾經經歷過蘭花價錢漲到天際的年代，他說現在一盆好幾百塊錢的報歲蘭，在30年前可是要一盆好幾百萬元呢！

簡介 Description

蘭屬常綠多年生草本，臺灣原生，中國大陸長江以南、越南、緬甸亦為原產地。鬚根叢生，長且粗大；假鱗莖橢圓形，粗壯肥大。葉劍形至長披針形，4~5枚叢生。花梗直立，總狀花序；花基部有蜜腺，萼片與花瓣狹披針形，唇瓣下垂反捲，花一般為淡紫褐色，具甜香味。蒴果，熟果黑褐色。種子量多且細小。

An evergreen perennial herb in the genus Cymbidium, native to Taiwan, south of the Yangtze River in China, Vietnam, and Myanmar. The fibrous roots are tufted, long and thick; pseudobulbs oval, thick and stout. Leaves sword-shaped to long-lanceolate, 4-5 in a clump. Pedicle erect, racemes; nectary glands distributed on the base of flower, sepals and petals narrowly lanceolate, labellum drooping and recurving, flowers often in lavender color, with sweet fragrance. Capsule ripe dark brown. Seed many but tiny.

栽培 Cultivation

適合半遮蔭溫暖、濕潤環境，耐寒力弱，喜腐植質富豐的微酸性土壤，排水需良好。以分株繁殖為主，亦可組織培養繁殖。

Suitable for semi-shade, warm and humid environment, intolerant to cold. It prefers slightly acidic soil with rich humus and good drainage. Mainly reproduced by ramets, occasionally by tissue culture.

應用 Application

品種繁多，可大致分為葉片有斑紋變化的葉藝品種與賞花為主的花藝品種。通常作為盆栽欣賞；生長強健的品種可以栽培於樹蔭下等遮蔭環境以作為地被植物。花可食用製花茶及香料。全草可入藥。

Many cultivars are available and usually divided into leafy variants with leaf markings and floral variants. Commonly planted in pots to add interests; the hardy ones can be grown as groundcover in shaded places such as tree shades. The flowers can make scented tea and spices. The whole plant has medicinal properties.
